Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has officially launched trumpcard.gov, a new government website allowing foreign nationals to express interest in the controversial “$5 million Trump Card”, a proposed residency permit that promises a pathway to U.S. citizenship for high-paying applicants.
The gold-colored card, which features Trump’s face and the inscription “The Trump Card,” was first introduced in April. According to Trump, the initiative is aimed at attracting wealthy investors to the United States. “FOR FIVE MILLION $DOLLARS, THE TRUMP CARD IS COMING!” he posted on Truth Social, adding that thousands have already inquired about how to join what he called “a beautiful road” to American residency and access to the world’s largest economy.
Currently, the website is only accepting preliminary interest through a simple sign-up form. Applicants must provide their name, region, email address, and whether they’re applying as an individual or on behalf of a business. Registrations are being accepted from eight global regions: Europe, Asia (including the Middle East), North America, Oceania, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
Though the official program has not yet launched, trumpcard.gov states that registrants will be the first to receive updates once enrollment opens. Trump has pitched the gold card as a premium replacement for the existing EB-5 investor visa, which requires investments between $800,000 and $1.05 million to secure a green card by supporting U.S. job creation. The Trump Card, by contrast, comes with a flat $5 million price tag and is being positioned as a fast-track to citizenship.
Trump has suggested that the card could generate massive revenue, potentially selling one million units and raising enough funds to make a meaningful dent in the national debt. Critics, however, have questioned the ethics of attaching citizenship to financial wealth, particularly as the administration continues to push for mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.
The former real estate mogul and now Republican president said in February that even Russian oligarchs could be eligible for the program. While legal and political scrutiny is expected, the Trump Card marks a significant escalation in Trump’s effort to reshape American immigration through financial filters.
