Arrests Made Following Armed Carjacking of Luxury Vehicle

Region of Peel   – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police, Central Robbery Bureau have charged three individuals following an investigation related to an armed carjacking where a luxury vehicle was targeted.

It is alleged that on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 5:50 p.m., the victim was exiting his vehicle at this residence near Cottrelle Boulevard and McVean Drive in Brampton.  Two suspects, wearing masks to disguise their identities and one armed with a weapon, approached the victim and made demands for keys and the vehicle.  The victim, fearing for his safety, turned over both, and the suspects fled in his car.  A third suspect, operating the vehicle used to facilitate the robbery, was stolen from Toronto and also fled.  Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the robbery.

Police quickly located the luxury vehicle a short distance away, operated by two suspects.

Following a motor vehicle collision, both suspects attempted to escape on foot, but they were both arrested by responding officers. The third suspect was arrested the following day, operating the stolen getaway car.

Robbery Possession of Stolen Property All three suspects were held for bail hearings and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.

This investigation remains ongoing, and police anticipate more charges could be laid.
