Arrest Made in Sexual Assault Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have made an arrest for a sexual assault that occurred at a residence in the city of Brampton.

On July 20, 2024, the female victim, a young person, engaged in conversation on a popular social media platform with a male known as Jamal.  The two later met up in the area of Bovaird Drive and Chinguacousy Road, in the City of Brampton, where a sexual assault allegedly occurred inside a vehicle.

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Jamal Douglas, a 21-year-old male from Toronto was charged with the following offences:

Sexual Assault

Sexual Interference

Invitation to Sexual Touching.

He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on January 13, 2025.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
